Our commitment to equity
Why health inequalities matter
Cancer outcomes vary significantly across communities. People from deprived backgrounds, certain ethnic minorities, older adults and those with disabilities often face later-stage diagnoses and poorer outcomes.
These disparities are driven by factors including lower awareness of symptoms, reduced access to screening, language barriers, digital exclusion and mistrust of healthcare services.
How CancerPath addresses inequalities
- Accessible design: WCAG 2.2 AA compliance, plain English content and mobile-first delivery to reduce digital exclusion.
- Inclusive content: Cancer information written for diverse audiences, avoiding clinical jargon.
- Mobile-first delivery: Reaching users who rely on smartphones rather than desktop computers.
- Equity analytics: Aggregated engagement data helps identify underrepresented groups and inform targeted outreach.
- Community partnerships: Working with NHS organisations, Cancer Alliances and community groups to reach underserved populations.
Ongoing commitment
