Dr Priya's Story
"One conversation really can change a life."
As a community health champion, I've seen firsthand how awareness saves lives. Too many people delay seeking help because of fear, stigma, or simply not knowing the signs.
Three years ago, I started running monthly cancer awareness sessions at our local community centre. We cover different cancer types, explain screening, and create a safe space for questions.
We've reached over 2,000 people. Several told me they went for screening or saw their GP because of what they learned. At least four people caught cancer early as a result.
Knowledge is power. When people understand the signs and know that early detection improves outcomes, they take action. You don't need to be a doctor to make a difference.
